Nature's Threads

Thinking about a new body of work, I was drawn back to nature as an interesting contrast to my cityscapes. I was inspired by the shapes and forms as well as the colour and line. I wanted the paintings in this series to embody and reflect the marks and movement of nature. I enjoy abstracting from photographic imagery, taking the literal twigs, trees and undergrowth and proliferating and layering them further, in compositions that celebrate frenzied energy and flow.
